Insect dream landscape
Dreams from inside a mushroom
petal dreams, dream leaves
dreams of wet wood and tunnels
of earth mounds that crumble, suddenly
Dreams of eggs that must be hidden from sight,
of seeing the light but you’re not ready yet to emerge
Dreams of frog feet
a larva’s nightmare —
a wasp inhales it twitches,
and drills tiny holes
into this collective dreaming
so that now it can seep through
porous autumn logs
back into the earth
that has already fallen asleep
*
A tiny worm wanders
A tiny worm wanders
close to the edge, sometimes
carves a path, turns this leaf
into a map
and so,
we remember her.
