Discover recent ink paintings made with colours extracted from plants and trees.
These delicate paintings on paper bathe in nature’s colours, given to us by plants. Some of my favourites colours come from hawthorn, oak galls, birch, woad, dyer’s chamomile, Japanese indigo, and walnut. The plant materials include branches, flowers, leaves and galls, turned into pigments and inks. I grow and harvest them in my garden in Brittany, forage for them, or source materials from elsewhere in France. It is a slow and gentle process that brings a soft and mysterious feeling, and reflects our place in the world amongst all the other things and beings. The paintings are full of creatures and stories.
