Poussière d’eau, poussière d’étoiles
Waterdust, stardust

frame: 40 x 50 cm
She lives in the half-seen,
swims a certain distance
down and out and up to the surface
to breathe, sometimes
where a dusty layer on the water holds a quiet storm
the dust gathers from bikers on the sandy path
from runners flicking up bits of whatever
grains of salt on the wind
pollen fallen out of the trees
a fox with dandruff, perhaps
They make this pool
a galaxy for diving beetles
and with her tired paddle-legs
she knows, before her final breath
a star is in each speck of dust.
